At the show METRO Curates, Gail Martin Gallery will present “Abstraction in the Textile Arts” an exhibition featuring works by contemporary artists such as JAMES BASSLER, ETHEL STEIN, POLLY BARTON and FRANK CONNET along with a choice of historical textiles from Pre-Columbian Peru, Africa and Central Asia. Together, the pieces on display span nearly 2,000 years, from today all the way back to the ancient weavings of Pre-Columbian civilizations.

The Gail Martin Gallery is now well settled in its new space at 825 West End Avenue, just 4 blocks away from the previous location which it occupied for the past 30 of the 42 years the gallery has been in business. Visitors are always welcome to make an appointment to come by. As always, historical textiles and works by contemporary fiber artists are on display. If you are interested in seeing something specific, please ask. The entire gallery inventory is stored at the new location and is readily accessible.
